I think the vintage Heuer watches are better than their contemporaries. I think that, regrettably Heuer have moved to far toward the mass market in recent years, and dare I say seem to be trying to produce a “cheap Seamaster” with some of their recent models.

I think you did the right thing leaving your watch at home, I know someone that dropped a Rolex Sea Dweller into the sea whilst sailing, it was only shallow water a few feet deep so he dived down to look for it… dived, dived and dived again… he never found it, I guess a watch like that would sink into the sand pretty quickly

Great story about how you discovered the Autavia…and thank goodness you didn’t try and dive with such a great watch.

Enjoyed meeting up at Basel, and next year I’ll make sure there is more “social” time at the pub rather than being stuck at the computer.
