Linde Werdelin test almost over…

Tags:

And now the Linde Werdelin test is almost over, so is my vacation…

The 2-Timer has been on my wrist for the past 3,5 weeks, except when i rinsed the salt sea-water off and when making photos of the watch. The Linde Werdelin proved to be an absolute reliable partner for traveling, even if you’re going off the beaten track. With it’s rubber strap it was very comfortable to wear with 35 degrees Celsius during day time. Yes 35 degrees Celsius and it’s winter here in India… can you imagine? The sea water’s temperature is around 28 degrees, which is also no punishment.

Now a last photo before i’m going to write the test review…

Linde Werdelin test – part 2

Tags:

Linde Werdelin asked me to test their 2-Timer for the purpose it was made for… vacation. At least that’s my opinion about Linde Werdelin’s 2-Timer and the new 3-Timer.

A few days ago i shared some photos of my trip with the 2-Timer on my wrist. My experiences will come later, so for now i’ll share some more photos. Yesterday i picked up an old Royal Enfield. Riding an old Royal Enfield in India has been a dream since i got my drivers licence, when i was 18.

Since i arrived in India my transport was a scooter, which is the main form of transport to most people in Goa. The Linde Werdelin 2-Timer has been on my wrist all the time. On the scooter, on the beach and in the sea. Until now it runs perfectly and during the darker hours, that start around 6.30 PM the super luminova, which is applied on the 5-minute markers and hands, has been my friend.

Thursday the Royal Enfield is supposed to take me from the north of Goa to Gokarna, which is 150 kilometers to the south. The road will be totally different from anything we are used to in Europe, the United States and several countries in the far east. The 2-Timer will of course be on my wrist during this ‘rough’ ride on roads with more holes than asphalt, mountain roads, horrible diesel smell coming from old trucks, trying to avoid the occassional cow on the road.

The funny thing is, that it will be accompanied by another swiss measuring device!

Let’s hope the old motorcycle will bring me to Gokarna without too much trouble.

One last photo before i strap the Linde Werdelin 2-Timer on my wrist again…

If everything goes well i’ll post more photos in a few days…

Linde Werdelin test – part 1

Tags:

Finding a perfect vacation watch is a subject that has kept me busy for some years. When Linde Werdelin heard about my vacation plans they immediately asked me to test their 2-Timer. Is this the perfect vacation watch?

During the month of January i’m on vacation in India. No luxurious vacation, a basic backpacking trip that starts in Goa for a few days of pure relaxation! Linde Werdelin was so bold to lend me a 2-Timer so i could put it to the test. Last year i wrote a few times about my search for the ideal vacation watch on Monochrome and on Worldtempus.com. At the end of this month i will post a complete review and my conclusions about the watch Linde Werdelin so kindly lend me for this vacation.

For now i will try to share a few impressions of the first days of my journey…. the Linde Werdelin 2-Timer on my wrist during the flight from Amsterdam to Mumbai.
Linde Werdelin 2-Timer

Shortly after midnight I arrived at Mumbai international airport. To be quite honest, it’s not like international airports in Europe, the United States or Malaysia that i’ve seen before. However, after picking up my luggage and going through customs, there was something i could appreciate.
Welcome by Ulysse Nardin

Since it was well after midnight and the next flight wasn’t until the next day, the first night was in a hotel near the airport. The next flight was from another airport in Mumbai…

And in the airplane i took another quick photo of the 2-Timer.

After my arrival one of the first things i did, was hiring a scooter…. and visiting a local market. The colors are beautiful… the smell… well, let’s just not talk about that. But it was fun to see the local watch dealer :)
Wanna buy a watch?

In a few days i’ll post more photos… if the gods of computers, internet access and power supply are willing.

Linde Werdelin bracelet… nice!!

Tags:

I’ve seen the different Linde Werdelin straps, which i think are very nice. Recently i fond out they also have a bracelet, which really suits the typical LindeWerdelin design. In my opnion it really completes their watches. Take a look.

Earlier this month, i wrote about the 5-day test-drive Linde Werdelin offers to people who are interested their watches. Linde Werdelin was so kind to borrow me a 2-Timer for my vacation. This way i can test the watch and see if this really is the perfect vacation watch. Today i arrived in India where I hope to enjoy my vacation for the next 3,5 weeks. Whenever i have time to visit an internet cafe i will try to upload a photo and share my experiences with the Linde Werdelin 2-Timer. So stay tuned or subscribe to the email newsletter to receive new posts via email.

Linde Werdelin bracelet

One of the readers of Monochrome mailed me to ask me if Linde Werdelin also made a bracelet and i replied they didn’t. Afterwards i checked this with Linde Werdelin and was told they do have a bracelet…. Although it’s not on the website, it is still part of their collection.

There are ony a few watches that have a bracelet that somehow really completes and perfectly suits the design. One of the best examples of this my opinion, is the steel vesion of the IWC Ingenieur. And of course other Gerald Genta designs :) Now i’ve seen this combination, i can add one to this list.

Linde Werdelin - Foundation Watch

I won’t spent to many words on it and show you some photos of a Linde Werdelin on a bracelet. The first photo is from Linde Werdelin, the rest of the photos show Stefan’s Linde Werdelin Foundation Watch. Stefan, thanx for sharing these beautiful photos.

Just look at his Linde Werdelin next to a Rolex Sea-Dweller…  it shows how massif this combination is. Very nice!!
