Cartier Introduced the new Tank MC Skeleton in Palladium

Cartier introduced the new Tank MC , which is according to Cartier themselves, the most masculine version of the Tank ever. The new Tank MC comes in two version: as an automatic version with Cartier’s in-house caliber 1904 MC and as a manually wound, fully skeletonized version in Palladium. While we’re sure the Tank MC Automatic will be a hit in the boutiques, we love to focus on the latter.

In the past Cartier has introduced several fully skeletonized wrist watches, like the Santos Dumont Squelette and the Santos 100 Squelette. The new Tank MC Skeleton features the exact same fully skeletonized manually wound movement, offering 72 hours of power reserve. The new Tank MC Skeleton measures a “hefty” (at least for a Tank) 39.10 mm from left to right and 43.9 mm from lug to lug, making this into one of the biggest Tank models available. Despite the larger dimensions, the case’s height measures a pleasant 9.3 mm.

Like the Tank MC Automatic models, the Tank MC Skeleton features an almost square dial. While Tank models are known for their rectangular dials, this is what gives these new Tank models a more masculine look than other Tank models. With this particular model the fully skeletonized movement, caliber 9611MC, also helps for more masculine looks, as does its rather robust size.

Like all Cartier timepieces made in precious metals, the crown is set with a sapphire cabochon. The new Tank MC Skeleton Palladium should be available from July and besides this version, there will also be two diamond-set versions.
