Thuiswerken is soms heel handig… zeker als net die dag de postbode een pakketje komt bezorgen

Vandaag kwam de postbode een pakketje bezorgen met deze Rolex DateJust. Het is mijn kleinste horloge met slechts 36mm diameter en tevens het enige horloge dat geen zwarte wijzerplaat heeft. Ik heb de DJ gekocht om een simpel kantoor-horloge te hebben, dat iets minder aandacht trekt dan de Panerai PAM1, TAG Heuer Monaco of de IWC Ingenieur Chronograph.

Last year Longines announced a re-issue of an old Longines dive watch, the Longines Legend Diver. This year IWC does the same, only not with just one watch but with six vintage beauties. The resemblance of the six re-issues is incredibly close to the original models. Here are two of these beauties, the re-issue of the Aquatimer and the Ingenieur.

Personally i think the Aquatimer is a fairly good copy of the original, but somehow it misses a bit of the vintage looks. I think they did a better job with the Ingenieur giving it a vintage look. If the writing on the dial would have been ‘International Watch Co.’, like on the original version, i would have liked it better. Shortly Longines started delivering the Legend Diver to dealers in several countries, but dealers and customers in the Netherlands will have to be more patient. Although the Legend Diver was presented at last years Baselworld it’s still not available at local AD’s. So while Longines keeps us waiting, here’s a nice photo to enjoy the beauty of the Legend Diver. Personally i think the Legend Diver has more of the vintage looks and that’s why i prefer this one over the IWC Aquatimer.

Alles wat ik normaal gesproken niet zoek in een horloge, gezien mijn huidige collectie… maar deze intrigeert me ontzettend. Dat zal wellicht voor een deel komen omdat ik vind dat ik een echt net horloge aan mijn collectie wil toevoegen. Deze nieuwe Chopard L.U.C. XP wordt binnenkort in Basel voor het eerst getoond aan de wereldpers, maar deze foto staat al op Timezone.

De ultra-dunne L.U.C XP is beschikbaar in rose of wit goud met een mat-grijze wijzerplaat. Het uurwerk is een automatisch Chopard kaliber L.U.C. 96HM met 29 stenen en een ‘hartslag’ van 28,800 en een gangreserve van 70 uur. Het uurwerk is slechts 3.3mm dik!
De kast meet 39.5mm X 6.8mm en heeft een natuurlijk krasvrij safierglas.

At the upcoming watch fair in Geneva, the Salon International d’Haute Horlogerie or SIHH, many new watch brands show their new collections. This year again, Girard-Perregaux brings really astonishing watches.

Two of these beauties are the lovely Vintage 1945 off-centered hour and minute the rugged Sea Hawk Pro 1000 meters. The Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Off-centered hour and minute has an automatic caliber GP01900 offering a power reserve of 46 hours. The power reserve indicator is positioned at the right lower corner on the dial. The beautiful and well balanced dial is made of enamel and has a nice ivory color. With a size of 36 x 37 mm this is a perfect dress watch.

Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Off-centered hour and minute

Another impressive new release, that i really like, is the Sea Hawk Pro 1000 meter. Although this 44 mm large dive watch already has a few legendary predecessors, Girard-Perregaux comes with yet again an astonishing watch. The stainless steel case has a helium escape valve, like the Rolex Sea-Dweller and several other serious dive-watches.

The manufacture caliber GP033R0 shows, besides hours and minutes, also a small second hand, the date and a power reserve indicator. Again a well balanced dial design and i particularly like the matte black dial.

In my opinion this is the most beautiful of all Sea-Hawks!
